FLOYDADA METHODIST CHURCH
A vibrant growing body of Christ in Floydada, Texas. Home to several amazing ministries and lots of amazing disciples. We are striving to grow Christ-like people who desire to serve God.
Over the last year our church has been through a discernment process about the future of our local church. Through the process of discernment our church voted to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church. After disaffiliation we took another 6 weeks to determine what would be best for our church moving forward. On December 4th the church voted overwhelmingly to join the Global Methodist Church.
The Mission of the Global Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ
who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.

Faith is the cornerstone of our church. It is part of every activity that we do, every meeting that we hold. We believe in our Lord, and that our actions are a reflection of his goodness.
We look to the Lord for guidance in our lives. In Scripture, we find all that we need to guide us in the right path. Reading and understanding Scripture helps us all live meaningful lives.
Join us. We welcome each and every one of you to encounter the Lord's unconditional love with us. Inside each of us is a purpose and meaning to be fulfilled by God.
The roots of Methodism in Floyd County can be traced to the 1880's, prior to the founding of Floydada and the formal organization of the country. Circuit riding preachers ministered to pioneer settlers at Della Plain and occasional worship services were held in a general store owned by J.S. McClain.
After the county was organized in 1890 and Floydada was named county seat, the Northwest Conference of the Methodist Church established a congregation here. Initially served by the Rev W.F. Ford, the membership held worship services in the local schoolhouse.
In 1902 a Community Church was erected in the 300 block of North Main Street. Although legally owned by the Methodists, the sanctuary was also used by other denominations in town. The building was moved to the 200 block of West Kentucky in 1913 and replaced by the Red Brick church in 1918.
As the congregation continued to grow, plans were made for larger church facilities. Work on our current sanctuary and church facilities began in 1953 and has served the congregation well over the last seventy years!
For over 120 years, Floydada Methodist Church has served the community with worship, educational, and outreach programs.
